From Our Clients!!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of Africa Last Minute

Thank you very much for the excellent organization of our three-week safari from 09.10.10 – 08.10.209 with Tsavo East, Tsavo West, Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, 11 Days Masai Mara (Malaika and Kichwa Tembo) and Nairobi.

The accompaniment by our guide Emmanuel Dadu Marko was – as in October 2018 – excellent. He is characterized by a very good knowledge of the flora and fauna, great observation and special attention to special situations and actions of various animals, large or small, made us always aware of it and gave us time to enjoy. He is extremely punctual and always attentive and polite to us. He is fluent in the German language.

Our Land Cruiser Jeep was completely trouble-free, but in the Masai Mara had to be changed the battery (Chinese product – only 4 months).

In the individual lodges and camps, the reception and support was always warm, the food was always good. Tsavo East, West and Amboseli were very dry. Nevertheless, animal wealth was excellent. In addition to the usual candidates, we saw many small kudu, several servile cats and many Gereniuks. In Aruba Ashnil especially the bungalows 214/215 with direct view from the terrace to the water hole with many visitors (elephants, zebras, gazelles and antelopes) are recommended.

Tsavo West is particularly well worth the magnificent view from the Rhino Valley restaurant to the mountains, as well as a drive through the volcanic world (5 sisters and Chainu craters), to the 360 degree panoramic view (Pourchers Look Out) and to the Kilaguri Lodge with its many animals at the waterhole in front of the restaurant. The accommodations in the Rhino Valley (we had house 2) were great designed and furnished with fabulous views from the patio.

The Serena Amboseli Lodge is very conveniently located in the park, but for us it is too much of a hotel, i. too large. Here it was also always cloudy, so that the kibo could show only very timid and short his sparse head covered with snow.

The Naivasha Country Club was ok for one night, but does not have the class like the Sopa Lodge.

Great was our feeling again in the Malaika camp. Here you are really close to the huge herds of Gnu migration. Joachim and John do a great job with their comrades and their warmth is second to none. Here we met practically “on the doorstep” the famous super lion Scarface (a giant scar and a blindfolded eye), which we had already experienced for the first time in 2014 and also discovered the spotted zebrapony (no stripes, but spotted like a hyena – is because someone has gone strange?).

The last 5 nights in Masai Mara we stayed at Kichwa Tembo. Absolutely top, both the service and the variety of animals in the area. The highlight here was, of course, the sundowner organized by our Emmanuel on the slope of the Oloololo Escarpment, where the moving funeral scene for Finch-Hutton was filmed for the movie “Out of Africa”. The night in Nairobi in the Troy is recommended. Idyllically located in the garden apartments with large living room and bedroom and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom. Great after 20 days safari.
We were on the last day in Nairobi in the National Museum – highly interesting and highly recommended. Arrival and departure without problems with the driver of the hotel, always on time, funny and entertaining the small city tour.
Not recommended is the restaurant of the house: large menu, but actually little to nothing in the offer for dinner.
The nightly departure to the airport was again very punctual and super comfortable.

Thanks again to everyone involved and to a new one in the summer of 2020!
