City Tour Mombasa

In the morning, you are picked up by our driver at the reception at 09:00 am. During the city tour, you will visit Mombasa’s most important sights. The Mackinon Market is very popular for its fresh fruits and vegetables sold there daily. You will also visit the Hindu temple, which is very beautifully decorated. Further, you will see the famous »Elephant Tusks« which are Mombasa’s landmark. The tusks were built to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth to the town in 1952. The road leads you to Fort Jesus. See the magnificent 16th century military architecture of the fort that was won and lost nine times by nations contesting control of the strategic island of Mombasa and the gateway to the “dark continent”.

Afterwards you walk through the narrow streets of the historic old town.

During your city tour, you will also visit the Akamba Woodcarvers Market. Woodcarvers, who use traditional handicraft tools, show you how to create intricate carvings.

Later, you will have late lunch at Rosina restaurant at Ratna Square. The excursion ends around 3.00pm and our driver will return you back to your hotel.
