At 07:45 you will be picked up from your beach hotel on the north coast. You drive on the Mombasa Malindi road towards Vipingo where you drive through a sisalplantation on the way to a Giriama village. Here you willbe guided through the various farmsteads of the local farmers and take an active part in normal village life. You’ll see how traditional foods are cooked, using locally made brooms made from coconut leaves, and much more. Here you can also drink a madafu (local fresh coconut juice). At around 9.45 a.m. we continue to the traditional doctor Dr. Charo, doctor is called Mwamanga (miracle healer) in his language, he has a large selection of traditional herbs with which he can help his patients. From here we continue to a localelementary school at around 10.20 a.m. and meet the students and teachers there during the break. During the breaks, you can visit the school for a short time without disturbing the students’ lessons. There will be cultural Giriama dancers on site who will entertain you with native Giriama dances and Giriama music. You are welcome to join the Giriama dance group and dance to the local music.
