Kisite Mpunguti Marine national park is a home to endemic marine life. It is also a breeding place for most of the migratory birds. It is ranked as the most rewarding snorkeling locations at the coast. Visitors can enjoy bird watching, diving and of course, sunbathing
Itinerary
At 6.00a.m you will be picked up from your hotel from North coast .As you drive to the historical Shimoni village in the South Coast along Mombasa – LungaLunga road, you will have the opportunity to see rural villages, sugar cane plantations, tall palm, baobab and mango trees.
Depart from Shimoni jetty with a Swahili dhow to Kisite Marine National Park. On boat we provide
water and fruits.
As you cruise through the Indian Ocean, there is an approximately 90% chance to spot Dolphins, if you are lucky you can swim with them. At the Marine park, there is a sand bank where you can come off the boat, swim and snorkel.
On the way back you arrive at the restaurant on Shimoni mainland where you have sea food lunch with vegetarian option.
After lunch visit Shimoni Slave cave ( optional/ not included ) just 100 meters from the restaurant.
One of the local guides from the cave will guide you to the Shimoni slave cave where slaves were kept during slave trade before shipment to Zanzibar slave-market. Finally, you are transfered back to your hotel.
